As your local Member of Parliament, Gabrielle is committed to delivering the best outcomes for the Dandenong electorate. Gabrielle is proud to have advocated for and played a part in delivering increased support for our local community, across education, health, mental health, family violence and more, as well as delivering a number of important infrastructure upgrades that benefit our community. There is always more work to do, but Gabrielle remains committed to continuing to boost infrastructure and services across the Dandenong electorate.

Transport and Roads

– $12.86 million for a new pedestrian crossing at Stud Road / McFees Road, Dandenong North
– Increased weekend and evening services for the 800 Bus from Dandenong to Chadstone
– More than 200 additional carparks combined across Dandenong and Yarraman train stations
– 90 extra train services each week on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, alongside 30 extensions of existing services
– Removing four local Level Crossings in Noble Park and Dandenong South, with two more on the way in Dandenong South
– 66km of extra lanes added to the Monash Freeway
– Delivered the new Remington Drive/Pound Road West Overpass in Dandenong

Community

– $12 million to support multicultural festivals and events across the state
– $6.63 million for the Youth Crime Prevention and Early Intervention Project (YCPEIP)
– $3.6 million to upgrade Autumn Place
– More than $2.1 million for community services run by South East Community Links
– $850,000 to plan for a Dandenong Arts Precinct
– $750,000 for the Victorian Tamil Association’s community centre upgrades
– $400,000 for the construction of the Albanian Cultural Centre in Dandenong
– Feasibility studies currently underway for an Afghan Community Centre
– $100,000 contribution for a Dandenong Sport and Events Centre feasibility study
– $80,000 to support Our Place in Doveton
– Funding South-East Legal Service’s Sporting Change Program

Health

– Funding a Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in Dandenong
– $295 million in funding committed to upgrade Dandenong Hospital
– $280 million shared with Werribee Mercy hospital to expand Casey Hospital’s
Surgery and Emergency Departments
– Sharing in $141 million to upgrade the Dandenong Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) centre
– Legislated Voluntary Assisted Dying for those living with a terminal illness
– Delivered The Orange Door – a new local Family Violence service
– Delivered a Priority Primary Care Centre in Dandenong – providing more local
options for healthcare
– New 24-hour Ambulance Station on Stud Road, Dandenong

Environment

– $5 million to upgrade Police Paddocks
– $550,000 for a Pocket Park on Herbert Street, Dandenong
– $153,500 for the Tirhatuan Park Dog Park, Dandenong North
– Funding the installation of neighbourhood batteries in Greater Dandenong and Casey
– Introduced the Container Deposit Scheme, with three locations in the electorate:

Dandenong Junction Shopping Centre, Dandenong North
Dandenong Market Carpark, Dandenong
Dandenong West Cricket Club, Dandenong West

Sports

– More than $5.8 million for upgrades at Ross Reserve
– $3.3 million to redevelop the Noble Park Aquatic Centre
– $1 million to build a new pavilion at the Olive Road Sporting Complex
– $500,000 to redevelop the Thomas Carroll Reserve Pavillion
– $300,000 to upgrade the playground at Frederick Wachter Reserve
– $250,000 to install new lighting at Greaves Reserve
– $250,000 to install new lighting at Waratah Reserve
– $200,000 to install lights at George Andrews Reserve
– $100,000 to install new lighting for the Dandenong Angels and

Baseball clubs

Crisis/Emergency Services

– $1.76 million for Viv’s Place to provide permanent housing designed specifically for
women and children escaping family violence and homelessness.
