BRAND NEW SCHOOL FOR ENDEAVOUR HILLS
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will transform the old Endeavour Hills Secondary School site into a brand-new special school for local children with additional needs.
Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced the site on Amalfi Drive would be transformed into a world-class special school to service growing demand for schools in the south east.
In the 2018/19 Victorian Budget, the Andrews Labor Government committed planning funding for a new Endeavour Hills Special School. And now, if re-elected, Labor will fully fund the school build, to open in 2022.
Endeavour Hills Secondary College was closed by the previous Liberal/National government and has sat derelict ever since. The Endeavour Hills community has campaigned for re-development of the site since the closure.
This announcement comes as part of the $850 million investment to be delivered by a re-elected Labor Government that includes 10, now fully funded, new schools to open across the southeastern suburbs.
The new schools will ensure that with every child in the south-east, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to a great local school which serves their needs.
Across the state, investment from a re-elected Labor Government will see 45 schools open within the next four years. A special planning fund for another 55 schools will also be implemented, which will ensure families can have confidence that Victoria’s education system is well prepared as the state grows.
Every child should have a great local school and the chance to achieve and succeed. Only a reelected Labor Government will deliver that for kids across our outer suburbs.
