GIVING DANDENONG KIDS THE SCHOOL THEY DESERVE
Students in Dandenong will have the modern classrooms and school facilities they need, to get the great education they deserve, thanks to another major upgrade by the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced Lyndale Secondary College will get a $3.8 million funding boost in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 for its exciting new upgrade.
The funding will complete the next stage of Lyndale Secondary College’s major upgrade, including the development of the College’s Creative Arts Wing. The new creative space will complement and reinforce the College’s STEM program.
It comes on top of the $13 million already invested by the Andrews Labor Government for previous stages of the major school upgrade.
The initial stages of the upgrade are already well underway and are revitalising the performing arts, STEM and food technology facilities, with these works to continue with this latest funding boost.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so every Victorian student can get a great education and every community has access to a great local school.
The Andrews Labor Government has invested more than $2.8 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 64 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians. This contrasts with the Liberals and Nationals who let schools crumble and decay, while slashing $1 billion from the education budget.
