MORE INVESTMENT TO HELP COMMUNITIES GET ACTIVE

The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to support grassroots sport with new facility improvements on the way for Dandenong.

Minister for Community Sport, Hon. Ros Spence, today announced that the Labor Government would contribute $280,000 to deliver upgrades at Dandenong Thunder Soccer Club and Lyndale United Football Club in Dandenong.

The project will include up to $200,000 towards the delivery of lighting upgrades at Dandenong Thunder Soccer Club at George Andrews Reserve.

In a further boost, the Government will provide an additional $80,000 towards upgrades at Lyndale United Football Club, including upgrades to kitchen amenities, roofing works and new fencing.

The Victorian Budget 2022/23 is providing an additional $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.

This initiative is part of the Government’s investment of more than $1.6 billion in community sport infrastructure since 2014. Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
