Families with young children in Noble Park can now access the quality local kindergarten programs they need, with the opening of the new Yarraman Oaks Kindergarten.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today visited Yarraman Oaks Kindergarten representing the Minister for Education to officially open the $1.25 million new centre.

The new facility includes a double-unit kindergarten offering three and four-year-old kindergarten, two consulting suites for maternal and child health and allied health services, community meeting space for playgroups and parenting programs, and toilet, kitchen, offices and children’s bathroom.

It will provide families access to an additional 66 licensed places to the Noble Park community.

The Andrews Labor Government provided Greater Dandenong City Council $650,000 towards the new centre through a Children’s Facilities Capital Program grant.

The state’s biggest early education build will continue over the coming years, with almost 1,000 new and upgraded kinders to come.

The Labor Government will invest more than $1.6 billion over the next decade to build approximately 785 new kinders and expand 170 existing services.

The is part of a $5 billion plan to ensure every Victorian child has access to at least five hours of subsidised three-year-old kinder by 2022, progressively scaled up to 15 hours per week over the next decade.

This will be the largest social, economic and educational reform ever undertaken in early childhood learning in Victoria’s history.
