Young families and sports fans in Casey will benefit from a new community pavilion funded by the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

Minister for Local Government, Shaun Leane, and Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, have today announced that the redevelopment of the Olive Road Sporting Complex in Doveton and Eummemmerring will receive $1 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund.

This funding will help Casey City Council provide people in Doveton and Eumemmerring spaces to meet, learn, play, connect and be active.

The major redevelopment of the Olive Road Sporting Complex will deliver a new community pavilion incorporating a multipurpose community room, first aid room and kiosk to support local netballers and other sporting groups.

The Growing Suburbs Fund investment complements the Victorian $2.7 billion Building Works Package, which includes over $278 million in shovel-ready infrastructure projects across the state to be delivered through councils.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has invested $275 million in funding 221 community projects. This has created more than 7470 jobs and leveraged more than $755 million in investment.
